Habana to join Toulon
Springbok superstar Bryan Habana has penned a deal with French side Toulon
Habana has been a megastar for the Stormers
Springbok legend Bryan Habana has confirmed the rumblings from the Cape by signing a pre-contract agreement with Top 14 outfit Toulon.
The contract means that 2013 will be Habana's final season in South Africa with the Stormers and also eliminates his future as a Springbok. Following the conclusion of the 2013 Super Rugby season, Habana will join Toulon.
Habana has secured a three year deal with Toulon for a considerable amount of money, which appears to be a good deal for the 29-year old back.
"Playing for the Boks is a huge part of my life and I would never turn my back on my country," Habana said, despite the Springboks policy of only using domestic players.
"I'll never stop giving 100 percent on the field for any team I play for and if the Springbok coach picks me, I'll be there."
"I'd like to thank everyone at Western Province for their support throughout my stay in Cape Town," he said.
"I've had three great seasons in the Cape thus far and I am looking forward to finishing off on a high before taking on a new challenge overseas. Hopefully we can build on the success we experienced last year - this young team has the opportunity to dominate for years to come and I'm proud to be sharing my experience with the next generation of star players."
