Weepu returns fit

Weepu was roundly criticized for being overweight last season
Blues fly-half Piri Weepu has returned to training in a much better state than last season and is 10kg lighter to prove it.
Weepu, will be looking for a return to greatness after a 2012 to forget in which he was routinely criticized for being overweight and for his poor form on the field. Auckland, similarly, suffered terribly in what was expected to be a standout season for the club. Instead they turned into the most underwhelming side in super rugby history.
"I thought I should keep up with things this year and try and make sure I start a lot better than how I was shape-wise last year," Weepu said.
"I've been trying to run the roads and run up some mountains and do anything I can that's cardio along with a little bit of weights in between spending some quality time with my family."
"I'd like to say I'm in pretty good nick."
Ultimately the Blues and Weepu will have to bring results home to absolve themselves for 2012 but no-one can doubt this is a step in the right direction for the Aucklanders.
