Zac Guildford ends association with Crusaders
Future bleak: Zac Guildford
Zac Guildford has withdrawn from the Crusaders Super Rugby season and will take an indefinite break from rugby after last weeks off field incident.
It almost certainly spells the end of a promising career for Guildford, who at only 23 years of age, has suffered through his inability to handle alcohol.
It now appears certain that should Guildford wish to continue his career he may head to Europe, but for the time being Guildford is expected to attempt to get on top of his alcohol issues.
"Zac's withdrawal from the Crusaders means they are able to concentrate on preparing for their 2013 season, and Zac will be free from rugby to concentrate on resolving his personal issues," NZRU chief executive Steve Tew said in a statement.
Guildford has represented the All Blacks 10 times in his young career.
