Pay-TV broadcaster Supersport has extended its ownership of English-language UEFA Champions League rights in Sub-Saharan Africa, in a three-year deal set to run until 2021. The matches will be aired live and as repeat broadcasts on Supersport’s various HD networks. Subscribers will also get access to edited game highlights, previews, match analysis and more. DStv subscribers may be granted access to stream Champions League matches live via Supersport’s official mobile app for Android and iOS, or on DStv’s official over-the-top (OTT) service, DStv Now, which also comes with its own streaming apps.
Pay-TV broadcaster Supersport has secured the rights to air the EPL in territories within sub-Saharan Africa. The network will screen all 380 Premier League matches every season through the end of the 2021-22 season, with English commentary. Games may also be available to stream on premium OTT platform DStv Now and its apps.
SuperSport has acquired the multi-platform broadcast rights in sub-Saharan Africa to the Italian Serie A. Supersport will air the Serie A starting with the 2018-19 season and will run for three years until the 2020-21 season. All 380 Serie A games will be televised on SuperSport and across its' platforms.
Pay-TV operator Supersport has retained English-language rights to broadcast Spanish La Liga games on TV in sub-Saharan Africa. Their multi-platform deal will see them air matches in high definition on their family of sports channels, both as live telecasts and full-match replays. With Supersport included in their premium packages, subscribers of DSTV and GOtv will gain access to the network's La Liga games as well. Matches broadcast on TV may also be available as high-quality streams on OTT service DSTV Now for PC, Mac, tablets and smartphones.
SuperSport owns the non-exclusive multi-platform broadcasting rights for the UEFA Nations League 2018-19 and 2020-21 editions. The deal also includes the qualifying matches leading up to the 2020 Euro Cup.
